Recommended by a friend who lives locally. Great location, but food and service not so great. The restaurant doesn’t give you menus, instead you have to download the QR code and you have to look at your phone to see the menu. This means that instead of chatting over a glass of vino you have to stare into your phone before you decide what to eat and then take your phone out because you’ve forgotten what you were going to order (!). We eventually ordered mixed salad and paella mixed for 2 and some steak and lamb for the teenagers. Overall the paella was a 4/10. Only one serving from the paella dish at the table. The seafood in the paella was non existent and the meat portions were so small that you ate more bone than meat. After paying close to €100 we were left disappointed and hungry. This restaurant is trying to be something that it’s not. In my opinion, they need to go back to serving good quality local food with a smile, and try not to be so pretentious. Personally, if you want great food and brilliant service go down to the other end of Aguadulce and visit the restaurants near the marina.

With the location right on the beach, we were really excited to eat paella with a beautiful view. Unfortunately it wasn’t what we wanted at all, very salty and lacking in contents other than rice. Service with starters was really slow. We were delivered our prawns (at a shocking €20 more than a bottle of wine) and then 30 minutes later the croquettes arrived. The waiter couldn’t be more apologetic when we shared how we were unhappy and offered to take off one portion of paella from the bill, along with a complimentary drink. Beautiful location, beautiful interior, just a real shame about the food.

If I had the option to not give any star that would be great. The communication from the staff was really bad. No one knew english, we asked 3 times for the menu. The last waitress came to get the order and we asked again for the menu. He just gave us a small paper with QR code. We waited for almost 1 hour for a salad ,crotchets and beef. We asked for paella and they told us that they don't have and then we need to wait for an 1 hour or more. For the prices that they have is really bad. They need a lot of improvement.

This restaurant is brilliant. We traveled to the area for a weeks holiday and decided to explore the local cuisine. After trying a few other places, we settled on El Navio for its friendly service and staff. We spoke English but ordering was made easier by way of an English Menu. In addition, the restaurant also gave us a free treat each time e.g. freshly made rolls or a quiche. The lobster pajela was sublime and the fish dishes were all cooked to perfection. The steaks were pretty good as well although the french fries could have been a bit thicker but admittedly im knit picking. Overall, i would recommend this place on at least one of your night stay. You will not regret it.
